, as part of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, a meeting of the first lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan with the Director of the UN Center for Sustainable Development of the UN (SDSN) Jeffrey Sax.
The meeting was held in a Turkish house in New York in a closed press mode.
The meeting discussed the concept of “zero waste” and its potential to accelerate the implementation of sustainable development goals, support the project through the SDSN global network, uniting 2000 universities in 150 countries.
Sachs expressed gratitude to Emine Erdogan for her leadership in this matter.
He noted that global development is impossible without the world and emphasized the importance of Turkey’s efforts as an intermediary in conflicts, including the situation in Ukraine.
Following the results of the meeting, Jeffrey Saks signed a declaration of goodwill about the global commitment of the “Zero waste” concept.
Emine Erdogan, in turn, thanked Sax for his support.
Commenting on the meeting on social networks, Emine Erdogan noted that they discussed with Sax as the Waste Waste initiative can accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals.
“We examined the contribution that can make a global network of sustainable development, covering 2000 universities from 150 countries, to this project. We agree that global development and a more fair, inclusive future is possible only in the context of peace and joint efforts. In this regard, I thank Mr. Sax for his support in creating a cleaner and more suitable world for life and for the signing of a “global declaration of goodwill by zero waste,” said the first Lady of Turkey.
