Emine Erdogan arrived in the capital of Azerbaijan in Baku to participate in the summit of world leaders on climatic actions that will be held as part of the 29th conference of the parties to the United Nations (UN) on the change in the climate (COP29).

During the meeting, Emine Erdogan said that food waste is unacceptable and deserve regrets in the face of the problem of hunger in the world, and explained that the Zero waste project in Turkey began with food waste processing in the presidential complex and the Great National Assembly of Turkey .
Emine Erdogan was also informed about the work of UNDS to dispose of waste in the area of earthquakes and noted the importance of processing the construction waste generated during earthquakes that occurred on February 6 in Kamhramanmarash.

Steiner said that the leadership of Emine Erdogan and her efforts in the field of “zero waste” are important and inspiring. During the meeting, Steiner was informed about the climatic law of Turkey, which is planned to be adopted in the near future, and got acquainted with examples of efforts to combat climate change, such as the deposits management system and the MAPA project aimed at protecting the marine life and the coast.
