In the modern world, the protection of children’s rights to life and ensuring that they grow in a safe and peaceful environment, turn into a global problem.
This was said by the wife of Turkish President Emine Erdogan in a video message to the participants of the 4th summit of the first ladies and gentlemen in Kyiv. The main theme of the event was the safety of children.
The first lady of Turkey emphasized that children are “sprouts of the future of humanity.”
Emine Erdogan recalled Nelson’s saying that “the true soul of society is manifested in how it relates to children.”
“If we want to see a reflection of the soul of mankind, we should look at the current situation with children in the world. The fact that infants are wrapped in the Savan, without even registering their birth, and that the death of children is ranked for the passing victims of the war, indicates how dark the soul of today’s humanity is, ”she said.
“While the wounds inflicted on children in Ukraine and Syria have not yet healed, an unprecedented cruelty is performed in gas in relation to them,” said the first lady of Turkey.
“Imagine a zone of conflict, where every 10 minutes they kill a child, and 9 out of 10 children become victims of hunger and thirst. How can we accept the world in which a child who finds himself in the epicenter of war says:” I’m so tired, I am so tired I want to die and relax “and prefers the death of life? We are obliged to provide the children of Ukraine, Syria, Gaza and all other conflict zones. A decent future, and not the choice between war and death,” continued Emine Erdogan.
Emine Erdogan praised the efforts of the wife of the President of Ukraine Elena Zelenskaya to ensure the protection of Ukrainian children. In particular, she reminded of the initiative of Zelenskaya to evacuate Ukrainian children who suffered as a result of the war in 2022. “Today, about 1,500 Ukrainian children and their faces are still in our country,” said the first lady of Turkey.
Emine Erdogan expressed hope for the speedy end of the conflict in Ukraine on the basis of a “fair and strong world”.
