Emir Kuwait died at age of 86 due to health problems

Emir Kuwait Sheikh Navaf al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah died at the age of 86.

This was announced on the air of state television by the Minister of Chancellery Emir Muhmmed al-Abdalla al-Mubarak al-Sabach.

According to the minister, Emir Kuwait died at lunchtime.

Who is Sheikh Navaf al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah?

Sheikh al-Sabah became emir Kuwait after the death of his predecessor Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jabera al-Sabah on September 29, 2020. He was appointed Crown Prince on February 7, 2006 and wore this title for 14 years.

Navaf al-Ahmed al-Jaber As-Sabakh, who had been at the post of Emir Kuwait for only three years, was born on June 25, 1937 in Kuwait.

In 1962, he became a governor in the city of Havalli, located south of the capital of Kuwait, in the east of the country. As-Sabach made a great contribution to the development of the city. In 1988 he became the Minister of Defense of Kuwait. He made great efforts to develop the departments of the Ministry of Defense and the provision of troops with modern weapons and military equipment.

Sheikh al-Sabakh, he took the post of Minister of Social Affairs and Labor in the first government of Kuwait, created in April 1991 after the war for the liberation of Kuwait from Iraqi occupation.

Twice held the post of Minister of Internal Affairs of Kuwait-in 1978-1988 and 2003-2006.
