4 employees of the first Channel of Iranian State Television (̇RIB) arrested in connection with a program that offends the shrine of Muslims-Sunnis.
The statement of the judicial authorities of Iran says that 4 people responsible for the “schismatic content” of the transfer, which was broadcast on Channel One on the evening of April 23 during the program called “Family Family” and included statements insulting the Hazrat Abu Bakra, one of the Islamic caliphs, were arrested by the court decision.

In the short material on the First Channel of the Iranian State Television in the Family Family program on the evening of April 23, a certain person used offensive expressions addressed to one of the Islamic caliphs of Khazrat Abu Bakra.
After the incident, IRIB announced the dismissal of two channel leaders, and the cases of 8 people responsible for the broadcast of content were transferred to the judicial authorities.
IRIB also applied to the security authorities with a request to conduct an urgent investigation to determine the factors standing behind the incident.
After the recent broadcast of the program on the IRIB NESIM channel, ridicurating Saudi Arabia, the IRIB National Broadcasting Company announced the adoption of disciplinary measures against responsible persons.
The content of the program caused a reaction, especially from government figures.
The diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, torn in 2016, were restored in 2023 with the mediation of China. Saudi Minister of Defense of Arabia Khalid Bin Salman, who visited Tehran last week, met with President Masuda Cyezeshkian and the leader of the country Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
