Energy – Lokomotiv Development

Energy is a locomotive of development, especially in conjunction with transport and communications. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a speech at the Istanbul Energy Forum.

The event was organized by the Anadolu agency under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.

The head of state added that energy is also the main condition for industrialization.

The Turkish leader noted that the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has lasted more than 1000 days, has demonstrated the risks of external dependence, primarily in the energy sector.

President Erdogan pointed out that among those planned for discussion at the Istanbul Energy Forum, the role of Turkey in the energy sector and financing of energy transformation.

He emphasized that even despite the lack of a crisis in energy supply, it is always necessary to maintain a willingness to ensure the safety of energy supply.

According to him, Türkiye attaches great importance to reducing external dependence in energy supply and facilitating the pressure of the cost of energy resources to the economy.

“Türkiye is confident to the goal of complete independence in the energy sector,” the president emphasized.

The head of state said that Turkey increased daily gas production at the Sakarya deposit in the Black Sea to 7 million cubic meters, and in other deposits of the country, production was increased to 8 million cubic meters per day.

The President also recalled that the Turkish research vessel ORUC Reis began exploration work in three deposits off the coast of Somalia.

In his speech, the president emphasized that in the Center for Turkish energy policy there is concern for people and the environment. “Without respect for people and the environment, the prosperity of the world economy, ensuring energy security and achieving peace in the world are impossible,” he stated.

The politician noticed that Türkiye is striving to bring the country’s atomic energy capacity to 20 thousand megavatts by 2050.

The Head of State also noted that after the full commissioning of Akku NPP will provide 10 percent of Turkey’s needs for electricity, thereby preventing 35 million tons of carbon dioxide.
