Indian strain COVID-19, which is also called delta option, is considered more contagious compared to other SARS-COV-2 strains. According to the expert, its symptoms are nonspecific and exclude the loss of smell, which occurs in 70-80 percent of cases. “Now there is some change in the spectrum of the dominant early clinical manifestations due to the advent of new SARS-COV2 strains,” the wheat added.
According to her, the Indian strain of coronavirus is more peculiar to manifestation from the gastrointestinal tract, including abdominal pain, loss of appetite, vomiting and nausea. Also among the symptoms may be pain in the joints and loss of hearing.
Expert clarified that according to the testimony of Indian doctors, compared with the beginning of the pandemic, patients are more commonly found diarrhea and microtrombosis of the lower extremities, while fever and cough arise much less. Epidemiologist noted that the loss of smell in this case is not even included in the top ten.
