UN Secretary-General Anthony Guterry and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the meeting in Ankara discussed efforts to diplomatic settlement of the situation in Ukraine and the opening of humanitarian corridors to help the needy, the press service of the organization reports.
During the meeting, Guterry expressed support for the continuing diplomatic efforts of Turkey in connection with the continuation of the war in Ukriana.
“They confirmed the urgent need for working humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians and delivering the necessary assistance to affected groups of the population,” added in the office of the Secretary General.
This reports that Guterrish and Erdogan confirmed the common goal to achieve a speedy settlement in Ukraine, creating conditions for helping civilians, and also spoke in favor of continued contacts on these issues.
