Ankara will continue to protect the rights of the Turkish minority living in the region of the Western Trakia in Greece.
This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at a meeting of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party of justice and development (PSR).
According to him, Turkey carefully monitors the steps of the Greek authorities against ethnic Turks in the country, and is ready to intervene in the situation if necessary.
At the same time, the head of state emphasized that Turkey is striving to develop friendly relations with all countries and the expansion of the circle of its friendly states. “We never turn away from those who held out our hand,” said the Turkish leader.
The head of state also affected the prospects for the development of the Turkish economy. He noted that the increase in Turkey’s credit rating by the Moody’s International rating agency after an 11-year-old break is a “too late step” for Ankara. “The economic potential of Turkey significantly exceeds these indicators,” President Erdogan emphasized.
