Erdogan called for implementation of principle of “two equal states” in Cyprus

Turkey calls for the implementation of the idea of ​​creating two equal states on the island of Cyprus. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The Turkish leader spoke at the opening ceremony of a new terminal and the runway at Erzhan Airport.

According to the head of state, the implementation of this principle is necessary so that representatives of the Turkish and Greek communities of Cyprus “live peacefully on the side, without the atmosphere of domination, tension and conflicts”.

President Erdogan also turned to the international community with an appeal to remove the restrictions on the political nature in relation to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

He emphasized that these restrictions are deprived of any legal basis.

Touching upon the topic of today’s event, Erdogan noted that at the moment the New Erjan Airport is the largest passenger capacity on the island of Cyprus.

He said that the new air harbor terminal in area is 6 times higher than the previous one and will be able to serve up to 10 million passengers.

According to him, the functioning of the airport will help to turn TRSK into a “water area of ​​stability” in the Eastern Mediterranean.

President Erdogan expressed confidence that the new terminal and runway at Ersk Airport at TRSK will soon be used for international flights.
