Erdogan categorical: We will not change position on Sweden and Finland in NATO

Turkey will not change its position regarding membership in NATO Finland and Sweden until they take the steps that are expected from them in Ankara. “Turkey expects the enddates of the end of the activities of terrorist organizations on their territory and the issuance of their members of the Turkish side. The authorities of these countries were provided with clear evidence, they are expected to respond to them. In addition to this, Turkey expects the support of the countries conducted by the countries NATO operations to combat terrorism. Terrorism is a threat to all countries of the Alliance, and the Candidate countries, before joining the organization, must accept this realism. The position of Turkey in this matter will not change until the necessary steps are taken, ” – Erdogan noted.

The Turkish leader also emphasized that Turkey’s position on the issue of NATO membership in the two Scandinavian countries should be considered as a “decisive step on behalf of all member countries that have become the goals of terrorism.” “Terrorism has no religion, nation and color. The decisive position of the countries – the participants of the Alliance in relation to each terrorist organization … is one of the most important missions of this bloc. No country has privileges in this matter,” Erdogan emphasized

Terrorist organizations in Ankara include the Kurdistan working party, its Syrian division of YPG and FETO, which the authorities accuse of involvement in the preparation of the coup in Turkey in 2016.
