Chukurova International Airport will contribute to trade, tourism and agricultural production of the Chukurov district in the province of Adan and provide employment of about 3 thousand people.
This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the opening ceremony of Chukurov International Airport on Saturday, August 10.
The President noted that Chukurov International Airport will play the role of a locomotive in the development of the entire Mediterranean.
The head of state said that they did not intend to close the Shakirpash airport in Adan.
According to the Turkish leader, Chukurov airport will be used for commercial flights, and Shakirpash for activities related to education, assistance in natural disasters and safety.
