Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the continuing construction of 40,400 facilities, including 32,600 apartments and 7,800 rural houses in the province of Hatai, which suffered from February earthquakes.
The head of state said this in his video message to the participants of the ceremony of laying the foundation of the project “Transformation of the city of Hatai”.
Erdogan expressed condolences to families and relatives who died during earthquakes on February 6.
“209 days have passed since the tragic events, but we are still experiencing the pain of loss today. We have not forgotten and will never forget the victims of earthquakes,” said Erdogan.
The Turkish leader noted that the construction of 40,400 facilities continues in Khatai, including 32,600 apartments and 7,800 rural houses.
Erdogan recalled that in Khatai, as a result of earthquakes, 254 195 housing units were destroyed or damaged. According to him, work on the Khatai Airport project has also been completed, the construction will begin in the near future.
