The earthquakes that occurred on February 6 in the southeast of Turkey caused more than 3 thousand aftershoks.

“Earthquakes with 3,170 aphthershoks caused strong destruction in our provinces, where 13 million people live. The destructive effect of the earthquake spread to a territory of 500 km. These earthquakes made energy equivalent to hundreds of the most powerful atomic bombs. According to him, 35,418 people died as a result of earthquakes. Thus, earthquakes on February 6 became the most destructive in the modern history of Turkey. The previous most destructive earthquake in Turkey occurred in 1939 near the city of Erzinjan, almost 33 thousand people became victims of the element.
Turkish authorities plan at the first stage to rebuild 30 thousand houses into regions affected by earthquakes, the process will begin in March, the president said.
