The demand for certified halal products and services is growing, since these products are clean and healthy, and Muslims also prefer it. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his video message to the participants of the 9th World Hello Product Summit and the 10th exhibition of the Islamic cooperation organization (OII) Halal Expo.
The global information partner of the events that take place under the auspices of the Presidential Administration in Istanbul was the Anadolu agency (AA).
Erdogan noted that the discussions that take place during the summit will open new horizons for companies, institutions and consumers in the increasingly strengthening halal sector. The business forums held as part of the event will lead to the establishment of new partnerships between companies, ”the president said.
According to Erdogan, the summit and the exhibition will also open the way to Turkish companies in terms of mastering a larger share in the Freet Industry market.
“Each step taken to ensure food security, the importance of which has become much better in connection with the tension between Russia and Ukraine, as well as pandemia, is considered strategically important. I believe that a halal-Sammit that will accept about 40 thousand guests, 10 thousand of which are foreigners, will strengthen the food security of Islamic countries. The demand for certified halal products and services is growing because these products are clean and healthy. In addition, Muslims prefer it. Today the global market has reached more than 5 trillion dollars, mainly in sectors such as food, tourism, cosmetics and finances, ”the president said.
The Turkish leader noted that this figure is increasing every day in accordance with the needs and expectations.
At the same time, President Erdogan noted the importance of certification of halal products and the activities of the Institute of Standards and Metrology of Islamic countries (SMIIC).
Certification and standardization are very important both in terms of ensuring consumer access to certified halal products and services, and in terms of facilitating the circulation of free products and services in international trade. The activity of the Institute of Standards and Metrology of Islamic countries, which began its work in 2010 year, is important in this regard, Erdogan noted.
The Turkish leader once again called on all the member countries of the Islamic cooperation organization to become members of the institute in order to eliminate disagreements in the issue of halal certification.
Turkey demonstrated the importance that it gives to this issue, through the Halal Accreditation Agency, added the president.
