Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed solidarity with Libya in connection with the death of more than 2 thousand people as a result of severe floods.
Turkey supports Libya, which suffered from destructive floods after the Daniel storm, the Turkish President said on Tuesday.
“As Turkey still has never left the Libyan people alone, so in these difficult times we support our brothers with all our eyes,” said Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the Symposium “New Constitution”, organized by the Office of Turkey’s communications in the Turkish Ankara.
According to him, the Turkish authorities sent three aircraft to the Libyan Bengi with 168 rescuers and gum on board, adding: “Our goal is to heal Libya’s wounds as soon as possible.”
The head of state expressed condolences to families and relatives of the dead and wished the sooner recovery to the victims.
As a result of a disaster that occurred on weekends in the east of Libya, more than 3 thousand people died, many others remain missing. The cities of Benghazi, Al-Baida and Al-Marj, as well as Sousse and Sherna, were most affected.
