Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised the Palestinian autonomy support. He made a corresponding statement during a meeting with the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
“The steps taken in our relations with Israel will in no way reduce our support for the Palestinian issue. On the contrary, our Palestinian brothers also declare that these steps will contribute to the solution of the Palestinian issue and improve the situation of the Palestinian people,” Erdogan said in the course Meetings.
In turn, Abbas thanked Ankara for her “unshakable support of the Palestinians.”
“We know about their support for the legitimate rights, freedom and independence of the Palestinians. We know that Turkey and its institutions support the Palestinian people and the Palestinian state in all areas in the international arena,” he said.
