Erdogan proposed to bring to referendum question of wearing hijaba women

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proposed to put on a nationwide referendum the issue of consolidating the right of women to wear a hijab in the Constitution, TRT TV channel reports.

“Let’s put this question to the referendum, let the people decide,” he said to the journalists. Thus, the Turkish Erdogan, commenting on the initiative of the leader of the People’s Republican Party (NCP) Kemal Kylychdaroglu, introduce the corresponding bill for consideration to parliament.

Erdogan previously already proposed amendments to the basic law, fixing the right of women to wear Muslim attributes of clothing.
