Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is reported by Turkish media with reference to the administration of the head of state.
During the conversation, President Erdogan said that he had always paid much attention to a close dialogue with Russian President for Regional Affairs. Positive results were noted in this direction.
The leader of Turkey noted that Ankara does not recognize the steps contrary to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which is the principal position of Turkey in this matter. Erdogan noted that it is important to achieve a result based on Minsk agreements.
Stressing that the military conflict in Ukraine is not profitable in Ukraine, Erdogan called for diplomatic contacts and negotiations, noting that today, as well as yesterday, Turkey is ready to do everything to reduce tensions and maintain peace.
Erdogan expressed the hope that Russian President Putin will visit Turkey as soon as possible.
