Erdogan: Terrorists will not force Turkey to turn off path

The terrorist organizations operating in the north of Iraq and Syria and their patrons will not be able to force Turkey to turn off the path to it.

This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the opening ceremony of a new runway at Sabikha Gekhen International Airport in Istanbul.

“We will not allow either terrorist barons in Kandil (the area in the north of Iraq – Ed.) And Syria, nor those who control these traitors, make us turn off our way,” said, in particular, the Turkish leader.

Speaking about the work of Sabiha Hecchen Airport, the head of state noted that he is the third air harbor in Turkey with the highest passenger flow after Istanbul and Antalya airports.

He recalled that in 2021, Sabiha Gekhen Airport accepted 25 million passengers from 181 thousand internal and international flights. In 2022, this indicator reached 31 million passengers, the president added.

According to the Turkish leader, with the commissioning of a new runway, Sabiha’s International Airport Gekhen will be able to accept more than 85 million passengers per year.
