Erdogan thanked residents of distress zone for active participation in elections

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanked all the inhabitants of the February earthquake zone for active participation in elected processes.

In the publication posted on Wednesday on Twitter, the politician emphasized that he respects the opinion of each voter regardless of political views.

The head of state assured that the efforts to restore the disaster zone will continue until the situation in the south and southeast of the country will be completely restored. “In the provinces affected by the earthquake on February 6, to date, more than 910 thousand tents have been installed, 117 thousand modular residential structures have been placed,” Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader gave the example of the Defne Hospital in the southern province of Hatay, which was commissioned in just 57 days.

“319 thousand houses will be built over the year, and in general it is planned to build 650 thousand residential buildings,” said Erdogan. The politician said that the first keys to new apartments for the houses of the distress zone will be transferred already in October-November of the current year.

He called on the inhabitants of the distress zone not to believe negative scenarios: “The state is next to you!”
