Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held on Thursday telephone conversations with the chairman of the sovereign council of Sudan (governing body of the African country) Abdel Fattah al-Burkhan and the deputy head of the sovereign council of Sudan, the leader in the quick response forces (special forces) Muhammed Hamdan Dagalo (Hamidti).
The Directorate for the Relations of the Administration of the President of Turkey reported that the theme of two separate conversations was the latest events in Sudan.
The Turkish leader said that in Ankara with fraternal sensitivity and anxiety are monitored by events in this African country.
Erdogan recalled that Turkey from the very beginning sincerely supported the transition process in Sudan, and the events of recent days strike the struggle of the Sudanese people, belittling the significance of the achievements of the transition period.
Erdogan called the conflicting parties to the cessation of armed confrontation and fratricide.
The Turkish President emphasized the importance of the resumption of dialogue and maintaining sanity in order to eliminate problems in Sudan and ensure the unity of the Sudanese people.
The politician assured that Turkey will continue to support the state and the people of Sudan and is ready to provide a platform for dialogue as an intermediary.
At the same time, he indicated the importance of ensuring the safety of Turkish citizens and structures, as well as their property in Sudan.
The President also noted the need to ensure security at Hartum Airport in order to form a humanitarian corridor, both for the evacuation of Turkish citizens and the delivery of emergency humanitarian aid to this country.
