Turkey considers Georgia a key to regional cooperation and expresses readiness to support any tripartite format, including Georgia – Azerbaijan – Armenia. On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at a press conference following the negotiations with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Ankara, reports TASS.
“Turkey sees Georgia as a key of regional cooperation. We believe that we can carry out different works that will strengthen and increase the importance and peace in our region. As part of the above-mentioned, three-way cooperation with Azerbaijan is very important. We, Turkey, support any Three-way cooperation, whether Georgia – Azerbaijan – Armenia or Georgia – Azerbaijan – Turkey, “said Erdogan.
Turkish leader also stated that it was decided to hold a higher strategic council involving Georgia in the shortest possible time. The exact date will be known after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of both countries will hold appropriate work.
Georgia Prime Minister, in turn, expressed the hope that both republics would be able to realize even more joint projects and deepen cooperation. Garybashvili invited Erdogan in Tbilisi.
