Erdogan: Turkey’s allies did not stick to help terrorists

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he discussed in Rome with the head of the White House Joe Biden the topic of purchasing F-16 aircraft, reports Anadolu.

“There was no negative reaction from the American side. We hope for the effectiveness of the dialogue,” said President Erdogan in a conversation with journalists, who accompanied the Turkish leader during a trip to the Grand Twenty Summit in Rome.

Erdogan reported that following the meeting with Biden, it was decided to enhance economic relations and cooperation in Afghanistan, Syria, Libya and the Eastern Mediterranean.

According to the head of state, at meetings with Joe Biden and [President of France] Emmanuel Makron, he expressed serious concern about the construction of a military base in the Greek Dedaagche.

The Turkish leader also expressed dissatisfaction with the attitude of Washington to what is happening in Syria. “Turkey makes all the necessary steps in a timely manner [within the framework of anti-terrorism operations outside the country]. We do not intend to retreat. At the same time, the Allian and the Turkish partner on NATO [US] did not pass support to terrorist organizations,” said Erdogan.
