Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan turned to the countries of the Es, which has been delaying the process of Ankara’s joining the European Union for more than 50 years.
“Open the way for Turkey’s membership in the EU, and we will clear the road of Sweden to NATO, as we did on the example of Finland,” wrote the Turkish leader on Monday on social networks in connection with the Summit in Vilnius.
Erdogan recalled that most of the NATO member countries are part of the EU.
“Promotion on the issue of Stockholm’s application to NATO will directly declare the fulfillment of obligations taken by the Swedish side as part of the tripartite memorandum. We expect the implementation of all the provisions of this document,” Erdogan wrote further.

The head of the Turkish state attracted attention to the significance of issues included in the agenda of two -day discussions in the Lithuanian capital.
He emphasized that Turkey in NATO has always made a position of “solidarity and alliance”, including in the field of fighting terrorism.
The politician said that in Vilnius he would again treat those from the NATO countries that have imposed sanctions and restrictions on Turkey and will call them “as soon as possible to abandon the erroneous path.”
