Türkiye has entered a new stage in the production of satellites with Türksat 6A. Türksat 6A will provide backup of existing satellites and further increase in throughput. This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a video message sent for the launch ceremony of the Türksat 6A satellite in orbit.
Erdogan emphasized that more than 81 percent of subsystems, ground satellite stations and software in project 6a, which is of great importance for future Turkey in space, were made at the expense of national resources.
The Turkish leader noted that for 6a, preference was given to the Falcon 9 rocket SpaceX, as in the case of 5B satellite, launched into space 2.5 years ago, and expressed satisfaction with the strengthening of cooperation, which was established with Ilon Mask and SpaceX in various regions.
According to him, Turkey strengthened its presence in space, despite all the obstacles and restrictions set before it.
Erdogan recalled that recently they carried out the first manned space flight, which is one of the main goals of the national space program.
“We entered a new stage in the production of satellites with Türksat 6A. Our local and national communication satellite 6a will provide backup of existing satellites and further increase the bandwidth. Türksat 6A is planned to be placed at a distance of 35,786 kilometers. India, Thailand will include the coverage area Malaysia and Indonesia, with the help of our new satellite, will increase the population served by Turkish satellites from 3.5 billion to 5 billion. We believe that thanks to the 6aA, Türksat satellite services will increase significantly. Türksat 6A Turkey will become a country capable of producing communication satellites, ”Erdogan emphasized.
The president noted that thanks to acquired technologies and experience, Turkey will receive a market share in the development and production of satellites and their components.
“The production of critical technologies, such as communication satellites, regardless of foreign sources, is of great importance for our national security,” said the Turkish leader.
