Turkey is ready to open the Consulate General in Shush on the first statement of the Azerbaijani side about readiness for this step. This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an open part of negotiations in an expanded composition with the Azerbaijani colleague Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday in Baku.
According to the Turkish leader, the discovery of Turkish damping in the cultural capital of Azerbaijan will become a clear message not only to Armenia, but the whole world.
The head of the Turkish state called the fraternal bonds of Turkey and Azerbaijan “an example to follow the whole world.”
The politician noted that the interaction of the two countries was again manifested in the elimination of the consequences of the destructive February earthquakes with the epicenter in the Turkish province of Kazakhmanmarash. “The government and the people of Azerbaijan perceived the grief of Turkey as their own. The rescuers’ groups immediately arrived in the distress zone. On behalf of Turkey and the Turkish people, I express gratitude to every resident of Azerbaijan, whose heart beats in Turkey,” the head of state emphasized.
According to President Erdogan, thanks to the Shushinsky Communications Declaration of Ankara and Baku, they increased to the level of allies, and the Turkish side is determined and to further develop interaction with friendly Azerbaijan. “We are ready to open the Consulate General in Shusha as soon as the Azerbaijani side says. Hakan Bay [Fidan is the head of the Foreign Ministry] and in this matter immediately … If our consultation is opened in Shusha, this will be a special message to the whole world, including Armenia,” said Erdogan.
The politician further attracted attention to the work of the Enlightenment of Turkey in Azerbaijan. “We plan that next year our school will begin to function in a new campus,” the president said.
The Turkish President said that he discussed with the president of Azerbaijan and the topic of deliveries of goods on the mid-transport corridor through the Caspian Sea, including in the context of the involvement of the railway-tbilisi-carce.
