Turkey has been reaping the fruits of state policy of the last 20 years aimed at implementing large -scale technological initiatives. This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, addressing on Saturday with a video message to the participants in the launch ceremony of the first satellite of the probe of the land of Turkish development – Imece.
The politician attracted attention to the scale of the “space economy”. “If in 2009 it was said about $ 245 billion, then by 2021 this figure reached $ 469 billion. Moreover, this figure was growing day by day. We are also constantly raising the bar of tasks in the light of the implementation of the National Space Program of Turkey,” the president stated.
The Head of State recalled the creation of a Turkish space agency 3 years ago, whose plans include the launch of a spacecraft to the moon, as well as sending a citizen of the country to the International Space Station.
The politician expressed confidence that a breakthrough in the technological sphere will allow Turkey to bring Turkey into the number of the most developed countries of the world.
Erdogan highly appreciated the characteristics of the new companion of Turkish development, noting that the high resolution of the pictures (up to a meter), the signal speed and maneuverability, turn ̇mece into the most modern satellite of Turkey.
“The whole process of creating ̇mece was carried out in Turkey – this applies to subsystems, as well as installation and testing. The spectrum of the capabilities of the new satellite of the probe is wide: from defense to the prevention of natural disasters, from agrarian to the forest sector and urban planning,” said the Turkish leader .
Erdogan recalled that of the eight telecommunication satellites of Turkey launched into the orbit of the Earth, the three have already completed their mission. “The remaining five continues to function for the good of the country. The satellite of ̇mece is another subject of pride in our country, a harbinger of the achievements of the“ centuries of Turkey ”,” the president emphasized.
