Türkiye takes a place in the first ten countries of the world in terms of the number of foreign students studying at universities. In 2023, the country got the opportunity to study 338,161 a foreign student, which is 4.76% of the total potential of higher education. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the message to the participants of the 4th Istanbul educational summit.
The summit is held in the online format by the Foundation of the Education of Turkey “Maarif” under the topic “Education for equal and more fair society and a sustainable future.” The global information partner of the event is the Anadolu agency.
In his message, the head of state expressed hope for the successful conduct of the summit.
“I am sure that this year the summit will also bring successful results by identifying the problems of the inequality that students face in many countries of the world, as well as discussing such important issues as the connection of education with the state and social justice. According to him, the Maarif Education Fund makes great efforts to convey the rich, fruitful and deep educational experience of Turkey to all corners of the world.
“The Fund, which operates in 55 countries and includes 446 schools, 1 university, 19 educational centers, 11 research centers of Turkey and 44 dormitories, today provides services for more than 50 thousand students,” the Turkish leader stressed.
Erdogan emphasized that in educational institutions of the Fund, along with the local program, international teaching methods are successfully applied, noting that the fund, on the one hand, helps to educate virtuous and qualified specialists, and on the other, it promotes the development of interceptive dialogue.
Erdogan noted that they are following the work of the fund with gratitude and are proud of its successes, emphasizing that they provide him with the necessary support and continue to do this in the future.
