Erdogan urged Muslims to unite against Islamophobia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan adopted a delegation of the Council of Muslim organizations in the United States, headed by the Secretary General of Osame Jamal.

The Head of State emphasized that the Muslim community continues to fight terrorism and crimes on the basis of hatred.

Erdogan expressed concern to the continuing growth of anti -Islamic sentiments in the West.

The politician noted that Muslims must unite and oppose Islamophobia, intolerance and discrimination against Muslims.

The Turkish leader called incidents unacceptable with the desecration of the Holy Book of Muslims – the Qur’an in a number of European states.

“This is a crime on the basis of hatred and barbarism. Monitoring cases of desecration of the Koran in Sweden, the Netherlands and in particular in Denmark indicate that democracy and human rights have not been established in this geography,” he said.

Erdogan called the adoption of the General Assembly and the Human Rights Council of UN resolutions an important step, according to which any insulting actions regarding sacred books are a violation of international law.

The Secretary General of Usama Jamal, in turn, expressed satisfaction with a meeting with Erdogan.

The negotiations were also attended by the Foreign Minister of Turkey Hakan Fidan, adviser to Turkey President Akif Chagatai Kylych, the head of the religion department Ali Erbash.
