Erdogan visited Mausoleum Ataturk on occasion of Victory Day

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the Mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on the occasion of the Victory Day and the Day of the Armed Forces of Turkey, celebrated in the country on August 30.

The head of state was accompanied by the chairman of the parliament Numan Kurtulmush, Vice President Jeweded Jilmaz and other officials.

The leaders of the political parties operating in the country also took part in the ceremony.

President Erdogan laid a wreath to the grave of the founder of the Turkish Republic.

Ataturk’s memory was honored with a minute of silence, then the State Anthem of Turkey was performed.

The Turkish leader left an entry in the memorial book of the Mausoleum.

Today, August 30, Turkey celebrates the 101st anniversary of Victory in the Battle of Dumlupinar.

Festive events are held throughout the country, the official part of which is organized in Ankara.

Victory Day is one of the most significant holidays in the history of Turkey, dedicated to the victory of the Turkish army, led by the founder of the Turkish Republic of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk over the Greek troops under Dumlupinar in 1922.
