Ankara (AA)-Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German President Frank-Walter Stemayer after the completion of negotiations in Ankara took part at a joint press conference.
President Erdogan said that the heads of state discussed topical issues of the agenda on regional and global problems.
“We will continue cooperation with Germany on such regional issues as events in Syria, the situation in the gas sector and the war in Ukraine,” he said.
Having stated that he is very pleased to accept Steinmeier again after his visit to Turkey in April last year, Erdogan recalled that last year it turned 100 from the date of conclusion of the Friendship and Germany Friendship Treaty.
“Unfortunately, we are observing an increase in the number of acts and statements in Europe, which include xenophobia, racism and Islamophobia. This is worried about Turkish society,” continued Erdogan.
According to him, recent visits at a high level and meetings at international sites are the brightest manifestation of a close dialogue between the two countries. The president added that strong political, economic, humanitarian and cultural ties make it possible for the further development of relations.
Having emphasized that the economic and trade relations between Germany and Turkey are quite strong, he noted that they continue to increase the volume of trade and encourage mutual investments.
Having stated that the fight against terrorism, illegal migration, visa issue, defense industry and questions regarding the Turkish community in Germany are also on the agenda, Erdogan wished that the elections that will be held in Germany on February 23 were favorable. < /p>
President Erdogan noted that the safety, prosperity and well -being of the Turkish community is in the first place on the agenda of Germany and Turkey.

The parties discussed the steps that can be taken to deepen bilateral cooperation, as well as regional events.
Regarding the situation in Gaza, the Turkish President emphasized that the world community lies a great responsibility for maintaining the ceasefire in gas.

Erdogan continued his speech as follows:
“We are observing the growth of acts and discourses of xenophobia, racism and Islamophobia throughout Europe. This situation bothers the Turkish community.
