Active contacts of the Ukrainian side with representatives of the team of the new US President are the key to successful preparation for negotiations to establish a fair and sustainable world. This was stated by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrei Ermak in an interview with Associated Press.
According to OP, Andrei Ermak noted that the Ukrainian side is looking forward to the visit of the US Presidential Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogue in February, “to provide comprehensive information about Russian aggression against Ukraine.”
“For President Vladimir Zelensky and our team, it is extremely important that the new US administration receives full real information about the situation on the battlefield, about the course of mobilization, about the situation with arms and equipment,” he said.
According to the head of the president’s office, “such a direct communication is especially important for developing a common position with partners, since it is impossible to form any plans to achieve peace without Ukraine’s participation.”
He recalled that he had already conducted a telephone conversation with the adviser to the US President on National Security Michael Walz. Contacts are expected with other members of the Donald Trump administration. According to Andrei Ermak, all this is a preparation for the future meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and the USA, he added.
“This meeting, I am absolutely sure, is extremely important. I consider it necessary to take place as soon as possible. And we are working on it,” Ermak emphasized.
He emphasized that Ukraine should approach negotiations on establishing a fair and long world with a strong position. Safety guarantees are also necessary, which is now one of the topics of all conversations with partners, he said.
“In any case, Ukraine should get strong guarantees. It is about how to prevent any potential aggression from Russia. This is not the country that respects international law, human rights. And any decisions will not work if they are not will be provided and confirmed by reliable security guarantees, ”he explained.
