Estonian President Alar Karis, as part of a visit to Turkey, visited Nurol Makina, which is one of the leading manufacturers of the Turkish defense industry.
The Estonian Center for Defense Investments and Nurol Makina signed a contract for the supply of Yöngük 4×4 armored vehicles in October 2023.
The Head of State noted that Estonia prefers Nurol Makina products to meet the needs of its defense forces due to its quality of the world class, strength and quick delivery time.
The politician emphasized that the delivery time has gained particular importance against the backdrop of aggravation of the geopolitical situation and the security situation in the Baltic region.
Alar Caris emphasized that Türkiye is an important NATO ally. “Estonia and Turkey are on the front line of NATO. Both countries are well aware of what it means to directly withstand the main threats to the Alliance. Therefore, I am sure that your cars will serve the forces of Estonian defense, both in the protection of our country and in the protection of the alliance as a whole” , he said.
Nurol Makina General Angin Aykol, in turn, noted that the visit of the President of Estonia is a great honor for the company he headed.
According to him, Nurol Makina is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of 4×4 combat vehicles. The general director emphasized that the company focuses efforts to improve these vehicles.
Engin Ailoko said that Nurol Makina supplies to various regions, primarily to NATO countries. According to him, vehicles that have a high level of mobility and strength. He said that more than 1.7 thousand armored vehicles manufactured by Nurol Makina are used in 20 countries of the world.
After the performances, a test drive of the car was carried out. Estonia President took part in the test, driving along the highway driving a car.
Estonia became the sixth country and the third member of NATO, who purchased Yörük 4×4.
It is expected that Nurol Makina will supply to Estonia during the year.
Armored cars will be adapted to the specific needs of the Estonian army.
