Estonia signed a contract in the amount of 50 million euros with the Austrian manufacturer of weapons “Hirtenberger Defense Europe” for the purchase of towed mortars, reports ERR.
It is reported that the caliber of towed mortars is 120 mm. In addition, a mortar can hit targets at a distance of up to 8.5 km, providing maximum firepower and reliability even in the most difficult conditions.
The weapons system consists of a long -range mortar itself, a wide range of ammunition, auxiliary field equipment, aiming systems and a completely digital fire control system.
It is noted that the system is quickly installed, easy to use and can be integrated into special transport solutions.
In January 2025, Estonia also acquired a batch of French self -propelled artillery installations Caeser. The 155-mm self-propelled guns were previously ordered to increase the mobility and firepower of artillery of the country.
In addition, in 2025, Estonia continued to provide military assistance to Ukraine. In February, 10 thousand artillery shells and other weapons were announced on the transfer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to support in conflict with Russia.
