EU announced readiness to simplify visa regime for citizens of Kazakhstan

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, met in Brussels with the European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ilva Johansson. Following the results of the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on the beginning of official consultations on facilitating the visa regime for citizens of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.

Nurtleu informed the interlocutor in detail about the visa policy of Kazakhstan, the high human capital of citizens and the lack of migration risks for the European Union by the republic, as well as the measures undertaken by the government in the fight against illegal migration, and other important aspects of work in this direction.

In turn, Johansson said that the European Union is interested in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan and is committed to expanding contacts between citizens of the parties. According to the European Commissioner, one of the important indicators of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the EU is to maintain regular cultural and humanitarian exchange.

expressing sincere gratitude to the European side for the constructive approach, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan noted that the facilitation of the visa regime for Kazakhstanis not only meets the expectations of citizens of the country, but will also give a serious impetus to the development of the entire complex of cooperation between Astana and Brussels.

Since 2017, Kazakhstan has introduced a visa -free regime for citizens of all EU states unilaterally for the development of business cooperation, tourism and human contacts.

The facilitating of the visa regime involves reducing the list of necessary documents, an increase in the duration and multiplicity of visa, etc.
