The European Union calls on all the countries of the world not to buy from Russia the grain that was exported from Ukraine. This was stated on Thursday by the representative of the EU foreign policy Peter Stano at a briefing in Brussels.
“We urge all countries of the world not to buy from Russia the grain stolen in Ukraine, we urge them to find out, the origin of the grain,” Stano quotes TASS.
Stano noted that, according to the EU foreign policy service, Russia “tried to sell a batch of grain to Egypt, but Egypt refused this.”
The head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Layen announced that the EC is currently creating ground green lines for accelerated export from Ukraine through Poland, Slovakia and Romania of more than 20 million tons of grain. According to her, in this way the European Union “simplifies exports from Ukraine”, which will allow Kyiv to purchase the goods it needs.
“We urge all partners not to limit the trade in agricultural products. Any trade restrictions are absolutely unacceptable in our member countries or all over the world,” she said.
