The EU foreign ministers at the next meeting in Brussels will discuss the proposal to cancel or limit the unanimous principle of making foreign policy decisions, reports Politico.
According to the publication, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands and Italy are for changing the decision -making procedure.
If the heads of foreign policy departments manage to come to mutual understanding, countries that, until recently, by their individual voice could block new packages of sanctions against Moscow, will lose this right. “Definitely, this will affect Hungary, whose Prime Minister Viktor Orban by all his might tries to maintain energy cooperation with Moscow and consistently speaks out against anti -Russian sanctions,” writes Politico.
