The head of the European Council Charles Michelle said that every new debates about sanctions against Russia are increasingly more complicated than the previous ones, but the EU will be able to increase pressure on the Kremlin.
“It is quite obvious that every new debate about sanctions is more difficult than the previous ones, because the principle is that we are aiming or should be aimed at things that may have a side effect for some of our members,” Michelle told reporters .
According to the chairman of the European Council, he held a substantial discussion of the issue of sanctions with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, and now he will be able to explain the proposals and expectations of the Ukrainian side to his colleagues.
“And I am sure that we can increase pressure on the Kremlin,” Michel assured.
