The next, ninth in a row, a package of European sanctions against Russia can affect up to 180 individuals and legal entities in the technological and financial sectors, as well as in the media, writes Bloomberg.
According to the sources of the publication, the restrictions can be introduced “quickly enough” – on the eve of the meetings of the Council for Foreign Affairs and the EU summit next week, notes The Moscow Times.
The European Union also plans to introduce restrictions on the import of technologies and components into Russia that Moscow uses for military purposes. This measure is being worked out against the backdrop of the increasing messages about the application of the Russian Federation in the hostilities in Ukraine of Iranian drones, in which, according to the reports, American and European components are used. Moscow and Tehran deny the use of Iranian drones in Ukraine.
Also, within the framework of a new set of measures, further restrictions aimed at services and investments, Russian media and financial sector are planned.
