The European Union (EU) promised to allocate 1 billion euros to support the Syrian refugees and the communities who accept them in Turkey. The statement notes that the EU plans to allocate 2.12 billion euros for 2024 and 2025.
“This help will be aimed at supporting Syrians both inside Syria and in neighboring countries, as well as communities who take them in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq,” the statement said.
The document notes that the EU confirmed his obligation given by him at the 7th Brussels Conference in 2023, to allocate 560 million euros for the population of Syria and for Syrian refugees and communities in Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq in 2024.
In addition, the EU also promised to additionally allocate 560 million euros for 2025 for these countries.
The message also indicates that the obligations for 2025 are part of the financial package covering the period until 2027.
