EU will allocate € 100 million to fight against illegal migration

The European Union will allocate 100 million euros to the implementation of measures related to border control and the fight against illegal migration.

This was announced during a visit to Tunisia by the head of the European Commission of Ursula von der Lyain, following the signing in the Carthaginian Palace of the Memorandum about mutual understanding in the field of strategic and comprehensive partnerships between Tunisia and the EU.

The head of the EC emphasized that these measures are part of the efforts to promote legal migration.

The ceremony, in addition to von der Layen, was attended by President of Tunisia Cais Said, Prime Minister of Italy George Melony, as well as acting Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte.

According to von der Lyain, under the agreement with Tunisia, the EU will allocate 100 million euros for activities to deepen partnerships and cooperation in the field of search and rescue operations, border control, the fight against people trafficking and ensuring the law enforcement. “
