EU will refuse a visa to “dangerous” Russians

The European Union countries will be able to refuse to issue visas to Russians who threaten their security. This was announced at the press conference by the European Commissioner for internal affairs Ilva Yukhansson.

“Member countries can refuse the categories of people who threaten security, public policy or international relations of the state,” she said in Brussels.

At the same time, European countries will continue to issue visas to certain categories of Russians – students, journalists, dissidents, and family members of the European Union.

“The European Commission will also approve instructions that will allow visas to members of families of EU citizens, reporters, dissidents and representatives of civil society,” said Ilva Yukhansson. The rest will face longer and more expensive procedures for obtaining visas in the EU. The receipt of multiple visas will be complicated.
