The European Union provided military assistance to Ukraine for 8 billion euros. This was stated by the Supreme Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel, foreign media write.
“The European Union and the EU countries provided weapons for at least 8 billion euros. It is 45% of the US effort,” he said at a press conference.
Josep Borrel emphasized that Europe never hoped that sanctions would allow the fighting in Ukraine. “Sanctions weaken the economy of Russia, its military capabilities and the possibilities of obtaining new technologies,” he said.
