For the first time in six years, Europe overtook Asia in terms of US oil consumption. Such data were published by the Main Statistical Department of the United States – the Bureau of the Census of the Population, said Bloomberg.
From January to May, Europe received about 213.1 million barrels of oil, while Asia – 191.1 million barrels. This happened due to the introduction of the embargo on Russian resources from European countries.
After these events, Moscow began selling part of the oil with Asian countries with a discount of 20-30%, while Europe was forced to look for new suppliers.
European countries began to more actively import black gold from the United States. According to Christopher Haines, an oil ASPECTS oil analyst, such a model of oil flows will continue.
