The European Central Bank (ECB) will focus on activities aimed at green transformation, as well as risks associated with climatic and natural changes. The corresponding activities of the ECB will be carried out in 2024 and 2025.
In particular, the ECB intends to study the influence and risks of the transition to the “green” economy, mainly the costs of this transition and investment needs.
In addition, the ECB will consider the possibility of further changes in its instruments and portfolio of monetary policy, taking into account this transition.
The ECB also plans to launch a program to manage the environment in order to support the achievement of EU goals to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2030.
In addition, when developing future series of banknotes of euros, the principles of eco -design will be taken into account.
