Negotiations on a new comprehensive agreement between Azerbaijan and the European Union continue, the press secretary of the European Commission of Ana Pisonero reported Trend.
According to her, at the moment the EU expects to obtain a position of Azerbaijan on the trade part of the agreement, hoping to continue negotiations on the basis of the information received. “As the Supreme Representative Jozep Borroll stated at a meeting of the Council of the EU-Azerbaijan Association on December 18, 2020, the European Union wants to conclude a new ambitious comprehensive agreement with Azerbaijan, based on democracy, human rights and basic freedoms, which will contribute to the diversification of the Azerbaijani economy, will strengthen our trading Relationships and will expand cooperation, “the European Commission spokesman said.
