European Parliament urged to begin by end of year negotiations on entry of Moldova to EU

the European Parliament (EP) adopted a resolution calling for negotiations on the entry of Moldova to the EU until the end of this year.

“Negotiations with Moldova on joining the EU should begin by the end of 2023 after the 9 recommendations of the European Commission,” the text of the resolution of the bishop said

The document says that Moldova membership in the EU will become a “geostrategic investment in a single and strong Europe.”

Chisinau continues to be subjected to pressure from Russia and energy blackmail, economic shocks because of the war in neighboring Ukraine and the Kremlin supported by attempts to destabilize the pro-European government of the country, it is further emphasized in the resolution.

At the EU leaders summit, held in Brussels in June 2022, Ukraine and Moldova received the status of “Candidate country”.
