Lithuania will be able to transport Russian coal and other solid fuel to the Kaliningrad region, despite the sanctions of the European Union (EU) that prohibit this, BNS reports. However, as notes the publication, the volume of transportation will be limited.
According to Lithuanian railways, in January-May, 1 million tons of coal were transported from Russia to Kaliningrad through Lithuania. According to the explanations of the European Commission (EC), Lithuania will continue to transport solid fuel, but the volume of transit goods in 2022 should be calculated based on the average amount of goods transported in 2019-2021.
