European Union extended sanctions for annexation of Crimea

The Council of the European Union decided to extend the sanctions imposed by the EU in response to the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia, until June 23, 2023. This was reported by the press service of the EU Council on Monday, writes European Truth.

The sanctions are still introduced for the first time in June 2014.

They include a ban on the import of products from illegally annexed Crimea or Sevastopol, as well as a ban on infrastructure or financial investments and tourist services from the annexed Crimea or Sevastopol.

Exports of certain goods and technologies in Crimean companies or for use in Crimea in transport, telecommunications and energy sectors or for exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources also falls under the EU restrictions.
